Welcome to Eastern Counties

Welcome to Eastern Counties - article image

Eastern Counties Retired Greyhound Trust started in the summer of 2007, with the belief that we can help many of the greyhounds that are waiting for new homes, and also to promote just how wonderful these dogs are.  Most of our homings are in the Norfolk and North Suffolk areas but please don't worry if you don't live in these areas as we can put you in touch with dogs in any area.

Greyhounds make wonderful pets!

Contrary to popular belief, greyhounds are very lazy animals; "the fastest couch potatoes in the world !" Another myth that we are happy to dispel, is that greyhounds can't live with cats or other small animals.  Oh yes they can !! They are no different to any other breed of dog in this respect, it's just a case of putting the right dog in the right home. So, if you are thinking about getting a pet that will not ask too much of you,  but will give you back so much love and eternal thanks for you being there for them, then PLEASE, seriously consider homing a greyhound...it could be the best decision you ever make.

Laila needs your help

Due to changes in personal circumstances her owners are looking for a new home for Laila. She is a lovely natured dog who has even learnt a few tricks, showing how clever she is !  She is an absolute stunner and would fit comfortably into any home.  Can you help us find her a loving home ?  She is currently in foster care as she doesn't do too well in kennels so please contact us before visiting our kennels.

Success Stories

Some of our adopter's have kindly sent in updates of RGT greyhounds they have adopted.  Click on the menu button top left and select any link under 'Success Stories' to access.  If you have any stories, poems, photos or videos you would like to share on your own greyhounds or greyhounds you have recently adopted from us then please do get in touch.  We would love to Bino1.jpgknow how they are getting on in their new homes.

If you have any photos or videos you would also like to share then please click on the menu button top left and select the relevant link under 'Your dogs' then follow the instructions for sending them to us.
